Communications Manager
Li Sumpter, Ph.D. is a cultural producer and multidisciplinary artist who applies strategies of worldbuilding and mythic design toward building better, more resilient communities of the future. Li’s creative research and collaborative design initiatives engage the art of survival and sustainability through diverse ecologies and stories of change. Li’s community practice as an eco-arts activist and immersive storyteller explores the urban and land-based knowledge of black, brown and indigenous peoples and how our connection to the mythic imagination shapes our strategies for planetary survival.
Li joins the L~W project as Communications Manager, working with community liaisons across all AWE centers to engage and amplify the voices and visions of BIPOC artists and activists connected to these sites and surrounding communities. Li guides the social media team and the project’s public relations consultants to share stories, art and immersive experiences grounded in and inspired by the land and waters of Lenapehoking.
